MEET OUR TEAM
Gail Ravgiala - Editor
Gail Ravgiala joined Design New England as editor in November 2007 moving from her
position as home design editor for the Boston Globe Magazine, published by Boston Globe
Media Partners LLC, DNE’s parent company. “Our editorial goal at Design New
England,” she says, “is to bring to our readers the best in design, while
introducing them to the professionals behind the splendid homes and gardens.” She
lives in a Boston neighborhood of 19th-century Victorian homes, where her appreciation
of architecture and solid building techniques has grown.
Mary Kelly - Publisher
From her office as director of national and major retail advertising for Boston Globe
Media Partners LLC, Design New England’s parent company, Mary Kelly watched the
magazine launch its first issue in November 2006 and grow into the award-winning
respected publication it is today. Since joining the DNE staff in the fall of 2016, she
has been especially impressed with the high aesthetic and business standards the design
industry professionals she’s met set for themselves. She is a long-time resident
of Natick, Massachusetts, where she and her husband raised two daughters.
Jenna Talbott - Art Director
Jenna Talbott, the founding art director of Design New England, brings an appreciation
of the broad array of top-notch interior design and architecture found throughout New
England. Her portfolio includes consumer titles, business-to-business publications, as
well as experience working as art director for a flash sale website, designing alumni
magazines, and designing and illustrating a title for Chronicle Books. Originally from
Vermont, she, her husband, and their daughter live in Quincy, Massachusetts, where in
her spare time, she works on illustration commissions and her flower garden.
Courtney Goodrich - Associate Editor
Having grown up in Massachusetts, Courtney Goodrich has a heartfelt appreciation for the
region’s design history and finds homes and gardens that express their occupant’s
personal style most compelling. She studied English at Stonehill College, where she also
explored the fine arts and art history. She approaches journalism with a visual mindset
and is as curious about new design trends as she is about classic architecture. She
enjoys cooking, reading en plein air, and visiting Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard
with her husband any time of year.
Wendy Harrington - Account Executive
Architecture and design have long been an abiding interest for Wendy Harrington, who
returns to Design New England as a sales associate after a detour into the residential
real estate market. There, her appreciation for the value of quality design and
craftsmanship grew even more. She lives in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood, where
she is surrounded by elegant old houses that are rich in architecture and design
Madeline Tiede - Sales & Marketing Coordinator
Madeline Tiede is enthusiastic about design, publishing, and communication. She studied
writing and fine arts at St. Lawrence University and was an intern at AZURE magazine, a
publication focused on contemporary global design, and at a London public relations
agency. Originally from Buffalo, New York, she is no stranger to historic, snow-covered
streets and thus could not be more at home living in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She likes
to discover new parts of the city by frequenting music events, taking painting classes,
and running along the Charles River.
